According to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, nearly 40% of seniors who live independently will take a fall each year. Of that 40%, half of those accidents will occur outside their homes. Those who fall outside of the house are in average or better-than-average health but may still fall victim to hip fractures and brain injuries.
