We Simply Haven’t Had Time to Grow Old

caregiver support for aging parents

Check out this inspirational video to meet Clark and Jean Paradise, founders of Your Grandmother’s Cupboard, an organization that provides items for those in need. They were called to form the organization when Clark was 75, and ten years later they are as active and independent as ever.

Jane Marion says, “They’re like an unstoppable force. They roll in with the trailers for the cupboard and they bring out the bins of clothing and they let people go through and get the food and the toilet paper and the papers towels and the things that they need. And it’s so empowering for them because it’s a very normal kind of function. It’s something that other people think nothing of, they get to go in and go shopping.”

A daily check-in call could be the lifeline, the joy you give someone that makes the biggest difference in their perception of what old age is like.
